You Owe Me a Murder

When Kim applied to a two-week program abroad in London, it was because she wanted to be with her boyfriend Connor, but when he dumps her, and her mother forces her to go on the trip anyway, she's miserable, watching her now ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, Miriam, whom he happens to be hanging all over. She turns to a new acquaintance named Nicki, for consolation. After Kim tells Nicki all about her tragic relationship with Connor, Nicki offers to kill him if Kim will kill her alcoholic good-for-nothing mother so they can both create solid alibis. Kim thinks it's just a joke and says sure. But then Connor winds up dead, and Nicki expects Kim to follow up on her "promise", blackmailing her. Now the pressure is on as Kim must decide whether to kill a woman she doesn't even know or become the number one suspect in Connor's murder. You Owe Me a Murder by Eileen Cook is an intriguing novel for those who enjoy a suspenseful read with a clever villain.
