Long Way Down

When his brother Shawn is shot down in the street, Will decides to follow the rules: No. 1: don't cry, No. 2: don't snitch, No. 3: get revenge. He enters the elevator with his brother's gun tucked into his waistband, determined to follow rule number three. Time slows. The elevator stops on each floor and each time, someone steps on, each person someone from his past, each one a victim of gun violence, each with a message for Will. Written in concisely measured free verse, A Long Way Down is a supernatural urban tale with an ending that will leave readers stunned.
