Exactly Where You Need to Be

Florie and her best friend Kacey have been inseparable for years, but all of that changes when they graduate and Kacey prepares to go to college in Portland. Florie, who struggles with OCD, will be taking a gap year due to her anxiety and protective mother. However, when Florie wins two tickets to see her and Kacey's favorite true crime podcasters in San Francisco for a live podcast, she decides to do whatever it takes to ensure she and her friend can attend. However, this will mean allowing Kacey's slightly brother to drive them, and she's mortified at the prospect of spending time with him after an impromptu kiss they shared the previous winter. Exactly Where You Need to Be by Amelia Diane Coombs is an engaging novel written by an author who has herself struggled with OCD. The characters are relatable, and readers will find themselves rooting for Florie as she grapples with her future, her autonomy, and her feelings for Sam.
