Born a Crime

In this award-winning autobiography the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, Trevor Noah talks about being born to a black mother and white father in South Africa which was technically illegal back in the 1980s under Apartheid. He also discusses the end of Apartheid and what it was like being a mixed child and not fitting in very well with either black or white kids. Growing up poor, he came up with all sorts of schemes for making money including selling pirated CDs and DJing street parties while also getting into mischief by shoplifting and accidentally starting fires. Born a crime is a mix of serious stories about his religiously zealous mother and hilarious anecdotes about his crazy adventures growing up in South Africa, making this a highly entertaining and engaging autobiography.
