It's 10:00 am and almost all of the students at Opportunity High are in the auditorium where Principal Trenton has been addressing them. No one realizes that the doors have been closed and locked from the outside...not until a former student begins to open fire. In one hour, their lives will be changed forever. Told in alternating points of view by four different students, including the sister of the killer, This Is Where It Ends is a timely and novel about the violent tragedies becoming all too commonplace in our nation's schools. That being said, there are some parts that are troubling such as when certain students joke about the situation or find romance during the tragedy. Readers will probably either like this book for its realistic scenes or dislike it for its flaws.
