It's quite possible that when Nicola Yoon wrote this book, she asked herself either before or during its writing whether two people can plausibly fall in love in one day. After reading it, this reader is convinced that it is! Natasha, who is about to be deported with her family back to Jamaica, is the pragmatist who wants to be a data scientist and doesn't believe in love at first sight, but she can't deny her strong feelings for Daniel, whom she just met on the street. Daniel is the Korean-American poet who believes wholeheartedly in fate and that there's no such thing as a coincidence. Yoon skillfully crafts a novel around the two characters in alternating voices that shows how seemingly mundane events can divide and unite as well as destroy and save. The author of the bestseller-turned-movie Everything, Everything has once again fashioned compelling characters and circumstances into an exquisite romance that is difficult to put down.
