Junior Vivian Carter is fed up with boys in her high school getting away with wearing t-shirts with lewd expressions while girls are pulled out of class for minor dress code infractions. Not only that, but boys are getting away with blatant sexual harassment. Even though she's quiet and reserved, she's had enough, and when she discovers her mother's memorabilia from her high school Riot Grrrl days, she's inspired to create zines calling on all girls with Moxie to resist, but she has no idea the extent of the harassment and cover-up that has been taking place at her school or how far other girls are willing to go to stop it. Moxie is a well-written, inspiring read for all those concerned with creating positive change.
