When Kacey moves in with her father’s family due to irreconcilable differences with her mother, she’s worried that she’ll never fit in. She had never spent any time with her father previously, and her younger half-sister seems scared of her. Fortunately, she has a caring stepmother and stepbrother who do everything they can to make her feel welcome, and she’s befriended on the first day of school by her new best friends, Bailey and Jade, but when Bailey goes missing, the new girl becomes highly suspect when she keeps winding up in all the wrong places as she tries to solve the mystery and find her new friend. Throw in the fact that the girls held a seance the night before Bailey went missing in the barn on the supposedly haunted property where a man murdered his family, and you end up with a delicious mystery with plenty of suspects and a shocking ending. Fans of mystery with a generous helping of drama are sure to enjoy this novel from acclaimed YA writer, Kara Thomas.
