When Zan's best friend Priya moves to California, she suddenly ghosts her, not responding to her texts and breaking off her relationship with her boyfriend. Zan is left shattered until she starts seeing odd posts on Priya's social media that don't sound like her at all. Zan becomes convinced that something bad has happened to her best friend, but everyone tells her that Priya is just forming a new identity and needs space. When Zan confides in a new friend she meets in class about her pain, he becomes convinced that Zan's suspicions are not unfounded and he agrees to help her investigate. This realistic tale of lost friendship quickly evolves into an engrossing mystery with a cliffhanger ending, and the writing is excellent.
