Shosh Bell was supposed to be in L.A. at a performing arts college, but her sister was killed by a drunk driver, and ironically, Shosh is dealing with her loss by drinking too much herself. Evan Taft was planning to apply for an ecology-based wilderness program in Alaska, but his mother is diagnosed with cancer, and Evan doesn't feel like he can leave her and his sensitive little brother in the wake of their mother's divorce. In the midst of their struggles, both Shosh and Evan begin hearing certain songs that only they seem to be able to hear, and when they end up discovering each other in the park, searching for the origin of the same music they both are hearing, they realize that this is no chance coincidence. Something supernatural has brought them together. Told in alternating viewpoints and flashbacks, I Loved You in Another Life is both an evocative and poetic love story.
