It's 1958, and there's been a string of murders in the midwest in which the bodies are found completely drained. In the latest murder which takes place in a small town, a young woman named Mary Catherine Hale is found covered in blood. As she's brought in, the sheriff's son, Michael Jensen sees her. He's an aspiring journalist and high school student and receives permission to conduct interviews with Mary Catherine after she states that she will only talk to him about the murders. Her story quickly takes a supernatural turn, though, and Michael finds himself wanting to believe her, but it just seems too impossible. As strange events take place around the area, Michael is convinced that the murderer is still in the town. He tries desperately to get to the bottom of the mystery before Mary Catherine can be put on trial and sentenced to death. An interesting premise for a mystery and one based loosely on serial killings that took place in 1958.
