Mario hadn't planned to go to prom, and he certainly never thought he would end being named prom king, but he is after he ends up taking out a quiet, reserved girl from his class at the request of his mother, but as he's crowned, he realizes there are worms on the crown. After driving around with his date afterward, he ends up being arrested and accused of murdering the prom queen, Maribel Starr, a girl he had once dated and who probably put the worms on the crown. Her long-term boyfriend with whom she had broken up with that night is also a suspect, but Mario's best friend suspects the murderer may be a secret boyfriend that Maribel had been sneaking out to see at night. Now, since the police seem convinced that Mario is guilty, his friend decides to do his own investigating to clear his Mario's name. Told from alternating points of view, A Night to Die For is a quick-paced mystery that will keep the reader guessing until the shocking conclusion!
